Planing forms

A set of final planing forms for producing finished strips.  They are fully adjustable with stations at standard 5 inch intervals.

Overall length 66 inches with groove depths as below:

Butt side 3.56 to 1.98 mm  (0.14 to 0.078 inches)
Tip side 2.32 to 0.33 mm  (0.091 to 0.0129 inches)

Perfectly sized forms for most fly rods.

The forms are constructed of steel with each bar being 3/4" wide and 1" deep.

Roughing forms

Basic construction as above but one groove 1.9 to 1.95 mm and the other 2.44 to 2.49 mm.  In each case 60 degree grooves.

The stations are more spaced out on these forms, see pictures and the overall form length is 63 inches.

Both of these forms have only been used for 6 rods so they are virtually as new.  To put it in perspective my forms which are similar construction have been used for nearly 300 rods and are still usable.

Roughing forms, note spaced out stations.

Minilathe

A chinese minilathe perfect for rodmaking use.  This that bit larger than the original version which helps when making reel seats.
Specification

Power 550W
Voltage 230V
Freq 50Hz
Spindle speed 100 to 2500 rpm
Chuck dia 100mm (3 jaw self centreing)
350mm between centres
180mm swing over bed.

Hardly used so nearly new.  It puts mine to shame.

Butt ferrules

As I am scaling back my rodmaking I will be offering several items for sale starting with some butt ferrules for coarse rods.  These are CNC machined from solid aluminium and they are threaded to the standard 3/8in BSF.

As you will see from the pictures they are slightly smaller than the bog standard item so that the end of the cork tapers in slightly.  They can therefore be used for a range of cork diameters.

length             0.98"   (25mm)
Max OD         0.865"  (22mm)
Min OD          0.709"  (18mm)
ID at entry      0.745"  (19mm)

These are for sale at £5 each plus p&p.

Standard form  on the left FCR pattern on the right for sale.

As fitted to one of my Coarse rods and with an H&H rubber button.
